Dear Third Year Families:
On Monday, 3/12, City Tech will begin mailing admissions letters to City Poly seniors who are likely to finish their high school requirements by August, 2012. Students will begin the advisement and registration process for the Fall, 2012 college courses.
Students who have already met the CUNY math proficiency requirements will be invited to take the math placement test on Friday, 3/16. More information about the exam is available here and here. Students who have not yet met the CUNY math proficiency requirements will delay testing until after the June Regents exams. Additionally, students with IEPs and ESL students who haven't yet met the proficiency requirements will be invited to take a basic skills test to determine if they need to take remedial courses during the summer.
Students who plan to register for Fall, 2012 courses at City Tech must attend an orientation session with a parent/guardian or adult family member in April or May. (More details will be available soon.) If you have any questions about the City Tech admissions and registration process for City Poly students, please contact our Early College Liaison, Marie Segares, at msegares@citytech.cuny.edu or 718-260-5745.

Third-Year Student Attendance in 2nd Period
Each Friday, we will be sending home letters to parents/guardians of third-year students who have been excessively absent from or late to 2nd period classes. We have explained to our third-year students that excessive absence or lateness could cause them to fail their 2nd period class. Failure would prevent them from completing high school requirements in June and could prevent their enrollment at City Tech in the fall. Please help us by getting your child to school every day on time for 2nd period at 8:40 a.m.
